Party establishment lines up in support of Emmett rancher’s planned primary bid
Hoping to “Keep Idaho a great place to work, a great place to call home and a great place to raise our children,” Idaho Republican Lt. Gov. and Emmett native Brad Little made it official on Friday. After an introduction by Gov. Butch Otter, Little announced his intention to run for the Republican nomination to the post he currently occupies.
“This morning I’m announcing that I’m going to run for lieutenant governor,” Little told the crowd of GOP officials who gathered in the drizzle at Boise’s Capital Park on Friday.
Before he addressed the crowd, the Emmett rancher received the endorsement of the man who appointed him to the position 10 months ago. “These are the events and these are the times that Idaho needs this kind of leadership,” Otter said. “With not only a quick mind to deal with the figures themselves, but with a heart that deals with the compassion that must go along with it.”
With a reputation as a strong fiscal conservative, Little told his supporters he will campaign to keep Idaho financially sound, something he said was in contrast to the philosophy in Washington, D.C. Please see the Nov. 4 Messenger Index for full story.
