Men golfers post results

The Emmett Men’s Golf Club posted the following results on 25 July. Kevin Hill came up with a 40 to take first gross, with Lonnie Lair placing second. On the net side Rodney Mc Callum took first, with a new player, Jeff Garringer taking second. The Men’s Club would like to recognize Gene Hollingsworth, who shows up every week and competes with the best of them.

On Aug. 1, the following results were posted. Jim “Doc” Thomson took to the course after a no golf sabbatical like an Oregon duck in water, shooting a 38 for first gross. Bert Stiewig shot a 39, but claimed first net. Kim Hartnett and Dave Howell tied for second gross with 40’s, while Rodney Mc Callum again delivered enough for second net.

The Emmett Men’s Club would like to remind all golfers that the Men’s Club Championship Tournament is coming up in September. The actual dates have not been set but will be either Sept. 15 and 16 or Sept. 29 and 30. The winner receives the opportunity to represent Gem County in the State Tournament in Sun Valley. Last year’s Gem County winner was Steve Judy, who enjoyed the experience at the State Tournament very much.

The Men’s Club would like to invite anyone interested in playing on Wednesday nights to come on down. Tee time is at 6 p.m. The Emmett Men’s Golf Club is affiliated with the Idaho Golf Association and The US Golf Association.
